Oxbow Pond Expedition

On the second day of Ecological Expeditions we went to an oxbow pond in Holderness.  The students made a number of measurements and spent several hours observing the living and non-living components of this pond.  They found that the pond contains a diverse population of living creatures and noticed many differences between the "bog" and this body of water.  The students then came up with a number of hypotheses that they wanted to test in the following days.  Please go back and visit the hypotheses page to see their hypotheses.  Here is an example of aspecies that was caught in the pond but was not caught in ther "bog".
