Camp Seawood is located on Banfield Road in Portsmouth, NH., not far from Route 101 and 1A. There are 38 acres of forest and wetlands. Thaxter Shelter and Ranger's Roost are both winterized lodges on the site. Thaxter Shelter is a one-story building that sleeps 18. Ranger's Roost is a two-story building that can accommodate 32. The camping area consists of six Adirondack shelters. The shelters are screened on the front. Latrines are centrally located. A trail network connects all the sites.

This is what you need in your day bag
  • Lunch with a drink (no glass containers)
  • Bathing suit under clothes
  • Water shoes, old sneakers or Tevas
  • Towel
  • Plastic bag for wet clothes
  • Spending money for Hampton Beach
  • Dry clothes (including underwear) and comfortable walking shoes
  • Sweatshirt/jacket for Harbor Cruise (mandatory)
  • Snacks
  • Disposable camera (optional)
This is what you need for your overnight bag.
  • Toiletries (toothbrush, toothpaste, hand towel, soap)

  • Sweat suit or pajamas

  • Sleeping bag

  • Pillow

  • Flashlight

  • Dry clothes
This is what you need to bring for breakfast.
  • Cereal, hard boiled eggs, cooked bacon, cooked sausage (whatever interests your group)

  • Bowls, plates, plastic spoons, napkins

  • Muffins, donuts, or pop tarts

  • Fruit, fruit juice

(Your group will decide which items each of you will bring. Remember breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Your body needs fuel to start. Be creative. Plan a healthy meal!)
