In March , 1999, the Winnisquam Regional School Board established a Space & Facility Needs Committee. The charge to this committee was: "The Committee shall review all available studies and update data on district wide space needs, both present and projected through the year 2010, and will develop recommendations to address those needs that will meet state minimum standards" The Committee started meeting in March 1999 on a bi-monthly schedule to prepare a final report Building additions and renovations. Winnisquam Regional Middle School - demolish 1,400 sq. ft. of the extisting 63,400 sq. ft and add 16,800 sq. ft to include a new music area, serving kitchen, improved cafeteria and six new classrooms. Renovate 53,500 sq. ft of the existing building including office space, nurse's office and front entry. Winnisquam Regional High School - demolish 6,400 sq. ft of existing 62,300 sq. ft, which includes the old shop area, cafeteria, music room and kitchen. Add 62,500 sq. ft that includes a new gymnasium, five new classrooms, new cafeteria, new music rooms, new locker rooms, stage and SAU offices. Field renovations: Union Sanborn Elementary School: improve traffic flow and increase the number of parking spaces by purchasing an adjoining property and developing a parent pick-up and drop-off space in back of the school. Southwick School & Sanbornton Central School: construct a new baseball/soccer field at the Southwick School and improve drainage and surface of the Sanbornton field. WR Middle/High School Athletic fields: Add a combination baseball, field hockey field, move the track and resurface with all-weather product, improve parking at the site, provide additional storage space for equipment. Currently the project is working on sitework, concrete foundations with below grade plumbing and connecting the addition to the existing structure.
