BACKGROUND In 1984-85, Winnisquam Regional High School was designated as the Regional Agricultural Program for the Lakes Region by the State Department of Education. The program, which had been servicing the needs of this district's students prior to 1984, was made available to students from area schools on a tuition basis. Area schools that will be offered the opportunity to avail themselves of this service are Belmont, Franklin, Gilford, Interlakes, Laconia, and Winnisquam. Recently, the State Department of Education has approached this district to ascertain whether or not we would be interested in approximately $750,000 of state construction funds to construct a new Aricultural Facility and supply it with up to date equipment. The cost to the district would be limited to site preparation estimaed at $50,000. Some of the construction phases included: sitework, masonary, and structural framing. The Agriculture Center was constructed over an eighteen month duration. The proposed location would be between the existing Dearborn house and tennis courts on the West end of the high school.
